The local economy
Between Geneva and Annecy, the labour market, the supply chain and the customer base do not stop at the border. In Haute-Savoie, the Arve valley holds a long tradition of bar turning (décolletage) and precision engineering: turned parts in volume, tight tolerances, demanding customers in watchmaking, automotive, medical and aerospace. These companies, often family-owned, face practical questions: succession, moving up the value chain, price pressure and shop-floor performance management.
Tourism, from mountain resorts to the shores of Lake Annecy, calls for different trade-offs: seasonality, heavy investment, staff recruitment and housing, an international clientele. All of these players share a dependence on cross-border workers, drawn by Geneva salary levels, which tightens hiring on the French side and weighs on retention. Our role is to turn these constraints into clear strategic choices, then into action plans that hold over time. AI is used where it helps, for example in demand forecasting, quality monitoring or reading operational data. Elsewhere, common sense and solid organization are enough.
The regulatory context
Operating in this region means working with two legal frameworks. The bilateral agreements between Switzerland and the European Union govern the free movement of people, while the tax and social security treatment of cross-border workers depends on where they live and work, with rules specific to the canton of Geneva. On data, the GDPR applies in France and the Swiss federal data protection act in Switzerland, and the European framework on AI adds requirements depending on the use case. We do not replace your legal and tax advisers. We build these constraints into the strategy from the start and work with your specialists, or ours, when the topic requires it.
How we work here
We work on site in Geneva, Annecy, the Arve valley and the resorts, and remotely when that is enough. Discussions take place in French or English, depending on your teams.
