The local economy
The canton of Vaud has a varied economy centred on Lausanne and the Lake Geneva region. The EPFL and UNIL ecosystem feeds a medtech and life sciences sector where laboratories, research spin-offs and established manufacturers work side by side. These companies face similar questions: moving from prototype to production, structuring the organisation before growth, and deciding where AI delivers a concrete gain and where it does not.
Alongside them, the food industry, business services, finance and support functions form a solid base. Many SMEs and mid-sized companies make decisions quickly but have few resources dedicated to steering. That is where we help: clarifying the strategy, turning it into a costed operating plan, then tracking results with simple indicators that management actually uses.
The regulatory context
Companies in Vaud operate within the Swiss federal framework, with requirements specific to each sector. In medical devices, the Medical Devices Ordinance, Swissmedic oversight, alignment with the EU MDR and ISO 13485 all affect timelines and budgets. In food, federal food legislation and cantonal inspections govern quality and traceability. The revised Federal Act on Data Protection applies to any project that handles personal data, including projects using AI. Switzerland has no general AI law, but companies selling into the European Union may fall under the EU AI Act. We build these points into projects from the design stage, not at the end.
How we work here
We work in Lausanne and throughout the canton, on site with you at the moments that matter (scoping, leadership meetings, rollout) and remotely the rest of the time. Missions run in French and English. For each mission we compose a senior team: a dedicated contact, our core team (strategy, finance, operations, data, AI) and, as needed, sector experts from our network, selected by expertise profile. We work with your existing tools and sell no software. At every stage you know what is being delivered, by whom and with what expected effect.
